The specifi c canyon is 3km away from the estuary of the river Krathi. It is 100m long and is located about 1km far from the provincial road of Akrata- Zarouchla. An irrigation groove of 12km was created to water the plain of Akrata. In order to complete it, it was necessary to create a tunnel of 200m length. The whole project was completed with success. The bridge of the canyon connects Akrata with Voutsimo and has a great, traditional design. From the bridge, one can take the path which leads to the canyon (a 5-minute walk). The offi cial path for hiking takes about 1.30- 2.00 hours and is accessible when the water level is 3m max., ideally from May to August, depending on the weather conditions and of course with the right kit. Activities are often organized; however, you can try it yourself.
