The municipalities of Egialia

Egialia is one of the most diverse and captivating municipalities of Northern Peloponnese, harmoniously combining mountains, sea, history, and culture. Its Municipal Units — Aigeira , Aigio, Akrata, Diakopto, Erineos and Sympoliteia — form a unified destination, each with its own distinct character.

Aigio, the historic capital, serves as the administrative and commercial center, known for its long history and vibrant cultural life. Diakopto and Akrata offer unique seaside experiences, beautiful beaches, and access to the renowned Odontotos rack railway, one of the region’s most important attractions. Sympoliteia and Erineos are famous for their picturesque villages, mountain trails, and warm, traditional hospitality. Aigeira, on the eastern side, combines coastal beauty with significant archaeological sites.
