Waters of Styx & the Myth of Achilles

All the gods, even the Sun, swore by the waters of the Styx. It was the greatest oath a god could make, and it was there that the gods served their punishment when they were being punished. It was in these waters that the Nereid Thetis dipped Achilles, making him invulnerable, but she held him by the heel, which remained the only vulnerable spot on his body. Today, the Waters of Styx can be reached by hiking the Achilles’ Trail.
