The mountainous area of Klokos and Barbas, together with the river Selinous are areas of the most significant interest, located on the west side of the municipality. These areas are rather inaccessible and the natural scenery is almost untouched.
The river Selinous has a length of 10km and is ideal for activities like kayak. On the top of the mountains, there are forests with fir trees, and rare flora and fauna.
On a lower level of Klokos Mountain, there is a forest full of oak trees, while on lower altitudes of the river Selinous, there are pine forests. Amongst the hilly areas of the river Selinous, wild birds hide and lay eggs.
